At Door Noir, we specialise in providing chic hand-forged doors made from exceptionally resilient materials.
THE STYLE
Door Noir craftsmen can hand-craft wrought iron and glass into any geometric form or motif you desire, though as you'll see above, we specialise in the French style - creating gorgeous minimalist designs that are either Arc (arch-topped) or Quad (square-topped). In accordance with the style, our doors primarily feature glass panels that are carefully integrated into the iron framework, allowing natural light to enter through and give your space a more open look. While French style wrought iron doors often evoke a sense of classic elegance, they can also be adapted to suit different architectural styles and personal preferences. They can be designed to complement both traditional and contemporary settings, offering versatility in their application.

THE METAL
Each wrought iron tube which forms the metal profiles of our interior doors is hand-welded using TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding, allowing our craftsmen to bend the metal into complex, intricate forms. This TIG welding process offers precise control and produces high-quality welds. As a material, forged iron allows for seamless finishes on the joints of doors and provides a more natural, sophisticated look compared to aluminium.

Once our welders create the perfect form, they apply several layers of rust-protective coatings which act as barriers between the metal and the external environment. These include primers, anti-rust paint and powder coatings. These coatings not only provide an aesthetically pleasing appearance but also act as a protective layer against moisture and oxidation. Another layer of protection is created through galvanising - a zinc coating process provides exceptional resistance against rust and extending the lifespan of the door.

For our Cascade shower door series in particular, our diligent craftsmen take the extra step to apply hot-dip galvanising, creating a thicker, more durable coating compared to other galvanising methods.
For exterior doors, we take advantage of the long-lasting durability of aluminium to enhance their resistance to corrosion. Additionally, we insert a layer of insulating material known as thermal break between the interior and exterior sections of the door frame. This layer effectively creates a barrier that minimises the transfer of heat or cold, enhancing the door's thermal performance during harsh temperatures.

THE GLASS
Door Noir offers a variety of tempered glass inserts for our doors including clear, frosted, fluted, pebble etc. for any level of privacy or desired aesthetic. The tempered glass offers increased strength that makes our doors less susceptible to external damage through impact, bending and thermal stress.
The inserts for interior doors range in size from 5mm, 8mm and 12mm.

For exterior doors and windows we offer Low-E glass, otherwise known as low emissivity glass which is designed to minimise heat transfer through the glass, helping to improve the energy efficiency of buildings while simultaneously providing comfort and UV protection. Thermal performance and noise reduction can be further improved by opting for double glazing (double-paned glass).

To facilitate our mission to always be innovative, Door Noir is also offering smart glass. This remote-controlled glass allows you to instantaneously change the transparency of a door from clear to opaque. It's ideal for offices, meeting spaces or any space where you need privacy for a short time! This is also a cost-effective solution that removes the need for curtains or blinds.

THE FINISH
Once forged into shape, our doors are powder coated according to the colour selections of the client. While matte black is the Door Noir favourite, we can also offer colours in white, bronze, sliver, gold, nickel and brass. Our powder coating technology is not only an environmentally friendly alternative to generic paint, but it also enhances the durability of the finish, making it resistant to chipping and tear.*
THE SWING
We know a regular swing door isn't always enough for your home to shine. As shown in our collection above, Door Noir offers a full variety of entrances with all kinds of movements and swings for any dynamic space. These include pivot doors, sliding doors, pocket doors, barn doors, bifolding doors and even shower doors!
